Our Fellowships

We believe the Christian life was not meant to be attempted solo. As individual members of the body of Christ, we are designed by God to be relationally connected to each other, and can only function properly when connected to the other parts (Ephesians 4). The following gatherings bring people together for that purpose. All are welcome to join.

January 2022 - Out of an abundance of caution due to the ongoing pandemic, fellowship programs will be online until further notice. Check out the ministry pages or reach out to a pastor / deacon for details.

Body Life

We believe Christians are designed by God to be relationally connected to each other. As individual members of the body of Christ, we only function properly when connected to the other parts, speaking the truth in love to each other to grow up into Christ. The ministry aims to facilitate fellowship, encouragement, caring and prayer in our congregation.

Teaching

In our church community, we hold high the value of the Bible, which we call the word of God. We believe that God has given us the mandate to teach his word, the Bible, so that everyone may live in obedience to God’s commands. Visit the Teaching Ministry page for information about the ministry and our Sunday School classes.

Worship & Prayer

Here at NYCBC, we believe that the number one activity of believers in Jesus Christ is worshipping together. We take the time to sing, pray, hear his word and to respond. The purpose is to praise God, and give him glory. If you’re interested in learning more or want to get involved in worship & prayer, visit the Worship & Prayer Ministry page.

Family (Children)

Children are part of an earthly family but are also an important part of the body of Christ. We believe that a child’s journey with God is cultivated primarily by their family, seeing that journey role-modelled by their parents, relatives, and guardians. Our role is to support families in raising and walking with their children in the Lord, and fostering a nurturing environment for children to grow and develop in their relationships with God.

Family (Youth)

We continue the vision in Family Children Ministry as the children transition into youths. We continue to build and foster the youths’ relationships with God. Students from Grade 7 to College/University are welcome to join! We gather on Friday nights and Sunday mornings to learn and grow more in our love for God and to build a closer relationship with Him and others.

Multimedia

We have a group of dedicated brothers and sisters who work behind the scenes to meet our church’s audio, video, website, graphic design and communication / social media needs. We help out with the AV needs for our ESC’s events and programs such as Sunday Service and Sunday School. If you are interested in learning more or would like to be part of the team, email us at multimedia@nycbc.ca.

Community Service

Being part and engaging the community around our church is an important part of our church’s vision and mission. We host a number of different activities that we welcome both our church members and non-church members to join. Activities include praise dance, tai chi, sing alongs, workshops, calligraphy. Come learn more by visiting the Community Service webpage.
